SIS Beta Recovery is a complete recovery drink from two sources, scientifically formulated for the time after endurance training. An advanced recovery drink for athletes who want to train again and again.
Designed for athletes who train regularly or do medium to high intensity training of 90 minutes or more and who need a complete recovery solution to ensure you are fully recovered before your next training session.
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy during prolonged medium to high intensity exercise. After a hard training session or competition, your muscles and liver are likely to be depleted of glycogen, and a key focus of recovery is to replenish both glycogen stores quickly. With this in mind, fructose is a carbohydrate source that is preferentially taken up by the liver and used to restore glycogen stores in the liver, while maltodextrin can be taken directly into the muscle to replenish muscle glycogen stores.
To maximise the recovery of glycogen stores, it is recommended to consume 1g of carbohydrate per 1kg of body weight, therefore SIS Beta Recovery contains 60g of carbohydrate per serving. The recovery process also requires a sufficient amount of protein to provide the amino acids to repair muscle damage and the building blocks to stimulate training adaptation.
SIS Beta Recovery is scientifically formulated and contains a dual source carbohydrate blend with 60g of carbohydrate (1:1 ratio of maltodextrin and fructose) and 30g of whey protein per serving. The addition of probiotic cultures promotes protein digestion and absorption and supports intestinal and immune function.
Why use it?
Supports recovery after prolonged medium to high intensity endurance training. Contributes to the recovery of normal muscle function before the next training session. 60g dual source carbohydrate blend consisting of a 1:1 ratio of fructose and maltodextrin, scientifically proven to promote glycogen storage in the liver and muscles. A dose of 30g protein with 3g leucine promotes muscle growth and maintenance. Mixes quickly and easily with water.
Fuelling energy with carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are the predominant source of energy for moderate to high-intensity training, i.e. for the intensities that both endurance and team athletes usually complete.
Carbohydrates are mainly stored as glycogen in the liver (approx. 100 g) and in the muscles (approx. 400 g), while around 5 g circulate as glucose in the bloodstream. Athletes should try to start important training sessions or competitions with fully charged glycogen stores to optimise their performance.
Intense exercise relies heavily on glycogen for fuel, which means that both our muscles and liver can be exhausted after just 90 minutes of exercise. For this reason, one of the main goals of post-workout nutrition is to quickly replenish both stores so that you can start your next training session with sufficient glycogen stores to perform as required.
Carbohydrates from two sources explained
SIS Beta Recovery is a dual source carbohydrate formulation, meaning it contains two forms of carbohydrate, maltodextrin (glucose) and fructose. Why do we need two forms of carbohydrate? After digestion and absorption, the muscle is not able to absorb fructose directly. This particular carbohydrate is preferentially absorbed by the liver, where it can be used to promote glycogen storage in the liver. Glucose, on the other hand, can be absorbed directly by the muscle and is used to promote muscle glycogen storage. The dual source formulation provides a nutritional solution to simultaneously promote rapid recovery of muscle and liver glycogen stores.
Revolutionary recovery
SIS Beta Recovery's carbohydrate blend has been scientifically proven to contribute to the rapid restoration of liver and muscle glycogen stores during recovery from endurance exercise.
The inclusion of whey protein in the recovery formula has been shown to improve liver and muscle glycogen recovery while supporting muscle repair and remodelling. Improve your recovery process after endurance training with SIS Beta Recovery.
Build muscle with proteins
Proteins are the building blocks of life as they provide the amino acids that help the body grow and repair. Our hair, skin, muscles and all our body tissues are made from the protein we eat.
Muscle protein synthesis (MPS), the process of producing new muscle protein, is an important component of how the body ultimately maintains and builds muscle and forms the basis of how our muscles adapt to exercise. When you consume protein after a workout, it provides your muscles with the amino acids they need to repair, rebuild and condition, leading to faster recovery and promoting training adaptation.
Whey protein is considered a complete protein as it contains all nine essential amino acids. It contains particularly large amounts of the essential branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Leucine is a particularly important amino acid as it provides the signal to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. Whey protein also provides a complete amino acid profile to promote muscle protein synthesis in the hours after training.
SIS Beta Recovery provides 30g of protein per serving, including 3g of leucine, a dose scientifically proven to promote the maximum rate of muscle protein synthesis during recovery from endurance exercise.
Improvement of intestinal function
BC30TM (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) has been added to Beta Recovery as a natural ingredient that supports digestive health, the immune system and protein absorption.
- Complete recovery drink from two sources
- 30g whey protein
- 60g carbohydrates
Add 100 g powder (four full scoops) to 500 ml cold water and shake. Best consumed within 30 minutes after training. Glycogen storage in the muscles and liver is accelerated if the carbohydrates are consumed immediately after training.
Whey protein concentrate (milk) (37%) (contains emulsifiers: lecithins), carbohydrate blend (53%) (maltodextrin, fructose), de-oiled cocoa powder, sugar, flavouring, salt, thickener (xanthan gum), BC30TM (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30 6086 (soya))
