SIS Beta Recovery is a complete, dual-source recovery drink scientifically formulated for post-endurance training. It's an advanced recovery drink for athletes who want to train again and again.
Designed for athletes who train regularly or engage in medium to high intensity exercise of 90 minutes or more and who require a complete recovery solution to ensure you are fully recovered before your next training session.
Carbohydrates are the primary fuel source during prolonged moderate- to high-intensity exercise. After a tough training session or competition, your muscles and liver are likely depleted of glycogen, and a key focus of recovery is to quickly replenish both glycogen stores. In this sense, fructose is a carbohydrate source preferentially absorbed by the liver and used to restore liver glycogen stores, while maltodextrin can be absorbed directly into the muscle to replenish muscle glycogen stores.
To maximize glycogen restoration, it is recommended to consume 1 g of carbohydrates per 1 kg of body weight, so SIS Beta Recovery contains 60 g of carbohydrates per serving. The recovery process also requires adequate protein intake to provide the amino acids needed to repair muscle damage and the building blocks for stimulating training adaptation.
SIS Beta Recovery is scientifically formulated and contains a dual-source carbohydrate blend with 60g of carbohydrates (a 1:1 ratio of maltodextrin to fructose) and 30g of whey protein per serving. The addition of probiotic cultures promotes protein digestion and absorption and supports gut and immune function.
Why use?
Supports recovery after prolonged moderate-to-high intensity endurance exercise. Contributes to the restoration of normal muscle function before the next training session. 60g dual-source carbohydrate blend consisting of a 1:1 ratio of fructose and maltodextrin, scientifically proven to promote glycogen storage in the liver and muscles. A 30g dose of protein with 3g of leucine promotes muscle growth and maintenance. Mixes quickly and easily with water.
Refuel with carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are the predominant energy source for moderate- to high-intensity exercise, the intensities typically performed by both endurance and team athletes.
Carbohydrates are stored primarily as glycogen in the liver (approximately 100 g) and muscles (approximately 400 g), while approximately 5 g circulates as glucose in the bloodstream. Athletes should aim to begin important training sessions or competitions with fully charged glycogen stores to optimize their performance.
During intense exercise, we rely heavily on glycogen for fuel, meaning both our muscles and liver can be depleted after just 90 minutes of exercise. Therefore, one of the main goals of post-workout nutrition is to quickly replenish both stores so you can begin your next training session with sufficient glycogen stores to perform at the required level.
Carbohydrates from two sources explained
SIS Beta Recovery is a dual-carbohydrate formulation, meaning it contains two forms of carbohydrate: maltodextrin (glucose) and fructose. Why do we need two forms of carbohydrate? After digestion and absorption, the muscle is unable to absorb fructose directly. This particular carbohydrate is preferentially absorbed by the liver, where it can be used to promote liver glycogen storage. Glucose, on the other hand, can be absorbed directly by the muscle and is used to promote muscle glycogen storage. The dual-source formulation provides a nutritional solution to simultaneously promote the rapid restoration of muscle and liver glycogen stores.
Revolutionary recovery
The SIS Beta Recovery carbohydrate blend is scientifically proven to contribute to the rapid restoration of liver and muscle glycogen stores during recovery from endurance training.
The inclusion of whey protein in your recovery formula has been shown to improve liver and muscle glycogen restoration while supporting muscle repair and remodeling. Enhance your recovery process after endurance training with SIS Beta Recovery.
Build muscle with proteins
Proteins are the building blocks of life, providing the amino acids that help the body grow and repair itself. Our hair, skin, muscles, and all of our body tissue are made from the protein we eat.
Muscle protein synthesis (MPS), the process of producing new muscle protein, is a critical component of how the body ultimately maintains and builds muscle and forms the foundation for how our muscles adapt to training. Eating protein after a workout provides your muscles with the amino acids they need for repair, rebuilding, and conditioning, leading to faster recovery and promoting training adaptation.
Whey protein is considered a complete protein because it contains all nine essential amino acids. It contains particularly high amounts of the essential branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Leucine is a particularly important amino acid because it provides the signal to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. Whey protein also provides a complete amino acid profile to promote muscle protein synthesis in the hours following exercise.
SIS Beta Recovery provides 30g of protein per serving, including 3g of leucine, a dose scientifically proven to promote maximum rates of muscle protein synthesis during recovery from endurance exercise.
Improvement of intestinal function
BC30TM (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) has been added to Beta Recovery as a natural ingredient to support digestive health, immune system health, and protein absorption.
- Complete recovery drink from two sources
- 30 g whey protein
- 60 g carbohydrates
Add 100 g of powder (four full scoops) to 500 ml of cold water and shake. Best consumed within 30 minutes of training. Glycogen storage in muscles and liver is accelerated when carbohydrates are consumed immediately after training.
Whey protein concentrate (milk) (37%) (contains emulsifiers: lecithins), carbohydrate mixture (53%) (maltodextrin, fructose), defatted cocoa powder, sugar, flavoring, salt, thickener (xanthan gum), BC30TM (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30 6086 (soy))
