Burgerstein Vitamin D3 2000 IU contributes to the normal function of the immune system, the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, and normal muscle function. Vitamin D3 is needed for healthy growth in children. It is particularly suitable for older people, as the body's own vitamin D production becomes less efficient with age. It is also recommended for anyone who spends little time outdoors, since vitamin D3 is naturally produced in the skin under the influence of UV rays.
Our bodies need sunlight to produce the vital vitamin D. In Switzerland, both the intensity and duration of sunlight are reduced. The risk of vitamin D deficiency is particularly high in winter when clothing covers the skin. In summer, sunscreen is used more frequently, so vitamin D production is significantly reduced.
